Love via Internet: pro&cons

Internet became the part of our life. Via Internet we study, listen to the music, watch the video, by a new telephone. Logically, there is nothing shocking in the fact Internet finally reached our “sensitive side” - we began to use Internet searching for love, get married with all effluent consequences.

Nowadays we can even choose among hundreds of web-sites following our fate.

Why do we do this?

Firstly, because of a big-big choiсe. We can choose a partner among thousands of others setting the parameters of search: blue-eyed German blond male in blue boots with maximum two hands and minimum two cars, for example.

We don`t spare time on red-eyed drunk male neighbour in one boot without a car, thank`s God!

As for You, chatting with Your potential partner You can embellish all facts about You. After talking with him or her during at least a week You become so close that he will for sure forgive You have only three fingers on you left hand (by the way, he never asked about number of fingers what meant he was completely indifferent to this))

Another plus of love via internet - you can build your relations gradually, taking it easy, not hurrying and not risking, as in the real life, in certain moment to say something stupid.Sitting near the monitor of computer, you always have time and possibility to think, analyse the ideas to decide what you want to say or no.

Via Internet You can be more sincere sometimes - You can tell something You could never tell in a real life. At least if You say something scandal or offensive You are put in a black list. Nothing else!

Still each plus has it`s minus. The fact You don`t see Your partner can play a bad game with You. Of course, You c an use a web-cameras, but the problem is not only in the appearance and voice. Once I met a guy in the Internet and chatted with him for almost a week! He was cool, educated, with a good sense of humour. But when we met and he began to talk in reality I understood he was a complete idiot, who became drunk after two beers! I am not chauvinist and respect drunk people but he was a drunk idiot! No matter what he said about epochalness of the Tolstoy`s novels and autumn-winter Pret-a-porte in Paris.

Another plus is our laziness. Sometimes we don`t mind to chat, but we will never go out with this man. Especially if we are married and happy in marriage))

Still, I think, searching for love (or it`s more simple forms) via Internet is cool, intriguing and can be very effective. I know personally my uncle`s friend`s sister`s roommate who found her love via Internet!

National Watch and Clock -15

National Watch and Clock -15

* A gear display for the kids to experiment with *
The Lancaster Photography Meetup Group held a photo session at The National Watch & Clock museum in Columbia PA. The museum attempts to show the complete history of timekeepers from the first non-mechanical devices (sun-dials, hour-glasses, fire-clocks) to the atomic clock and mass-produced wristwatches of the present. Frankly, we were impressed by the size of the collection.

I found a Target walkie talkie

I found a Target walkie talkie

The kids and I were pulling into the Target parking lot when I noticed a walkie talkie on the ground. I opened the door of the van and snatched it up before anyone noticed.

Once in the car, I called the Target and said:

"Attention Target! This is Wal-Mart! We've captured your walkie talkie and are downloading all of your corporate secrets. Resistance is futile."

I got no response; however, when an alert came through for help in electronics, the automated radio voice said "Who will repond?," so I shouted "Wal-Mart will respond." Then a human voice said, "Thank you." Not nearly as cool as I imagined it would be. The kids didn't even think it was funny.

I actually took a video clip to put on Vimeo; however, the clip in 8.5 MB (over my limit) and I sound like a hillbilly on it.

Eventually, the dude who dropped the walkie talkie was frantically circling the lot looking for it, so I gave it back.

For a second, I thought I should keep it and use it every time I come to Target.

back to the watch.

back to the watch.

and the future.

i've been without my watch for a long time now because the band broke and apparently it takes me a really long time to find the time to go to target now that it isn't in my backyard. but i went today and now it is back and i feel safe and whole and punctual once again.
also, it broke before the time change so it looks like i took this picture in the future. i did not.

16 things you really don't care about

16 things you really don't care about

Since I am hella bored and I've been seeing these things all over, I decided to kill a little time. No one actually tagged me, though Kayzig did tag Dr. Doom and I guess that counts as me.

1. My middle name is Lee... It's a boy's name. Though it actually is my mom's nickname... Her first name is Lorelei but since her sister couldn't say that as a child, it turned into Lee Lee.

2. I am a history nerd. I majored in history, I watch the history channel, my friends get annoyed when I start spouting out random facts that I find interesting.

3. I've never been on a plane. I've only been off the East Coast of the US once to go to bumblefuck Illinois to see my Aunt and cousins.

4. My boyfriend, Bobby, and I have been together for a little over 4 years. I secretly get jealous when friends of mine get engaged when they've been together for less than Bobby and I have.

5. My mom is one of my best friends. I tell her everything and sometimes she thinks I'm insane.

6. I've been best friends with a girl named Liz since we were in first grade. She's short, like me!

7. On the topic of short, I'm 5'1'' and am constantly reminded of that fact. I hate to be called "Cute" just because I'm short.

8. I hate when people touch my feet, ears, or belly button. Of course my boyfriend finds it hilarious to do all of the above. I've cried from getting poked in the belly button. It grosses me out.

9. I'm really afraid of spiders. I have worked my way up to being able to smush the little ones, but big ones make me run away.

10. I love crafts. I love creating. Sometimes I wish I had majored in arts or something, but then I think it would have turned into an obligation rather than a hobby I enjoy.

11. I normally have really long hair. I recently cut off 10 inches to donate to Locks of Love. I think I'm going to grow it out long again, I don't feel like me without my long hair.

12. I donate blood even though I normally get really close to passing out each time. I think my discomfort is worth saving lives, though.

13. I read a lot of really random stuff online. I recently read about sexual relations in ant colonies.

14. There's a squirrel living in my kitchen roof. We usually get something of the sort when it gets cold because we live near woods. My mom was smacking the ceiling with a broom to scare it off but ended up poking a hole in the ceiling. The squirrel popped its head down to say "Hi!" and my mom ran away.

15. I've read Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire at least 3 times. I wrote my senior paper in high school comparing the book to the movie.

16. I hate putting my clothes in drawers. I would rather have them all on shelves so I can see them. I hate drawers. In fact, I can't even say "drawer" properly. It comes out as "Drawww" and I blame it on being from New Jersey.

Okay, so yeah, that's it. I hope I didn't bore you too much ;) The picture above is from a Metallica concert I went to this past Saturday with my boyfriend and his two brothers. Notice the two brothers in the background being goons.

I tag whoever feels like killing time and talking about themselves.

I guess I got tagged. I didn't know what to upload or who to tag and I don't know what to say so...

1. I'm obsessed with puppies but I'm allergic to them so it doesn't work out too well.
2. I pretty much only watch Law and Order SVU or anything on the Investigation Discovery channel. I don't even know if that's the name of it. oh well.
3. I hate living in Long Island. and I would love Philly so much more if I wasn't such a big Mets fan.
4. I have no idea what to do with my life.
5. The thing I lie about the most is probably my age. whoops.
6. It's really surprising how well I do in school considering the fact that I put in such little effort. Maybe that'll change this year and I'll finally stop procrastinating. but probably not.
7. Some of my favorite bands are Boys Like Girls, Valencia, The Dangerous Summer, This Providence, VersaEmerge, and The Morning Light... and I still feel the need to cry once in a while just because I'm still mad they broke up. h8 lyf -_-
8. I have trouble falling asleep so sometimes I'll just take 5 hour naps in the middle of the day and wake up and realize I wasted my entire day. whatever.
9. Shopping is one of my least favorite things to do. I probably haven't bought anything from a store that wasn't online in about a year.
10. I'm not that talented but I can sing like Millionaires, so that must count for something.
